Registered Dorpers

About Dorpers

Dorpers are a breed of hair sheep developed in South Africa in the early 1930s with the goal of producing high quality carcasses in arid to semi-arid conditions. The breed has become popular around the world, and especially here in Texas, due to their hardiness, excellent maternal qualities, heat tolerance, and long breeding season. We are proud members of the American Dorper Sheep Breeders’s Society and the Texas Hill Country Dorper Association.

Our ewes

Our first four registered fullblood Dorper ewes were purchased from Mirror C Livestock and are all daughters of “Double Stuff” (RR Dorpers North 22159). We then added a couple purebred Kelly Hair Sheep ewes, a KB Sheep ewe, and a Hanna Dorper ewe. These ladies were chosen as the foundation of our registered flock. We strive to improve our flock with each generation we breed.

Our Rams

Our first registered fullblood Dorper ram was purchased in December of 2023. He is a son of Holman Ranch 6398 and was bred by Holman Ranches of Sonora, TX.

We recently purchased a new ram to take over breeding duties, starting in the fall of 2025. This hunky guy is also a Fullblood and was bred by Charles Seidensticker in Comfort, TX. His pedigree is primarily from Roeder Ranch (ICON) from Fredericksburg. He was the Reserve Champion Open Sheep Dorper Ram at the San Antonio Stock Show in 2025, and was born in March of 2023.

Purchasing Our Registered Sheep

As we are currently growing our registered flock we will be only offering registered ram lambs for sale. We will take reservations for registered lambs once they reach 2 weeks of age. Ram lambs can be picked up from the farm by appointment at weaning, between 3-4 months of age. If you are interested in wethers for club lamb shows please contact ahead of time so that we can work with you to arrange our breeding cycle to match up with your event.
